by Roger Andersson Visit Date:June 19, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Stayed only one night due to disapointment with our room. As in a number of resorts and hotels in Thailand there is a need for refreshing in the rooms. In our room there was a highly smell of mould wich is nt that nice to live in, especially when you are allergic. We noticed as before that this problem is to find in many other resorts and mostly on ground floor. In the shower-room every thing was in concrete, walls, cealing and floor, no wonder it smells very odd because it never dries up. I think due to this and to very few tourists in the low-season that the resort is overpriced." |
by Rebekah Taylor Visit Date:March 30, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "This was our first visit to khao lak (but 5th visit to Thailand)and we loved it. We stayed at Ayara Villas in the holiday house for 6 nights and it was fabulous. The holiday house had two bedrooms, one with a large king sized bed and large bathroom, the connecting room had another king bed that we split into two singles. The staff were amazing and made the holiday extra special. They really helped with my Thai (thank you Mon) and were fantasic to my son. The main pool wiht the hotel buildings was beautiful and super clean, the mini bar had the cheapes prices I ve ever encountered in Thailand. We would defintely book again." |
Perfect., February 13, 2010 by Leif Jacobsson Visit Date:February 6, 2010 "Nice resort and nice bungalow, but our “Seaview Bungalow” did not have any sea view since they are building a new resort in front of those bungalows. Located at the end of the road about 2 km away from Bang Niang “centre”, but there are several restaurants located near the resort. Nice beach with plenty of sun chairs, nice pools (there are 2 of them) but we preferred the beach. Good breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff.

Thank You, no problem, May 6, 2008 by Kuligina Olga Visit Date:April 18, 2008 "We were five people from Russia and we stayed at Ayara Villas from 18 till 27 of April, 2008, having booked a special package from Sawasdee (9-10 nights staying – pay for 5). There were no many people here this time.
We ve made a conclusion that it s worth spending Your holidays in this resort. It s not a big one, better to say middle-sized, and we liked it. Super green area, full of plants, palms, wonderful smelling flowers. Very calm and quite atmosphere. It s a new-rebuilt resort (after tsunami). Every bungalow is well-equipped, nice and clean swimming pools with jacuzzi and water facilities.
Really no more than 100 m up to the sandy beach with warm ocean water (mostly suitable for the families with children, I suppose). But no any coral places – so do address tourist bureau if you like and travel to the islands (Surin, Similan).
Breakfast – quite enough and more, but a little bit similar every day (however, the food was not the main aim of our trip in Thai). Many restraunts and cafes, small shops, tourist desks nearby, 3-days working market in Bang Niang (10 minutes walking). We rented a motorbike and a car, so it was easy for us to travel along Khaolak area and to Phuket. We were impressed visiting waterfalls, swimming there is a beautiful contrast with surrounding +30-35° temperature.
Some notice:
- one-way taxi to Khaolak center is 150 B and no more, to Bang Niang 70-100 B
- to change money is better in Khaolak center (because of rate)
- to buy European (Italian, French) wine – also to Khaolak center.
Grand thanks to Thai people, to the owners of resort, to friendly and polite staff for their hospitality

So easy to use! Not a single problem., February 19, 2008 by Michael Doyle Visit Date:January 28, 2008 "We loved our stay at Ayara Villas. The staff could not have been friendlier or more accomodating. The grounds are gorgeous and well-maintained. Our room, though not fancy, was clean, spacious and comfortable. We had a pool access unit and would highly recommend them, although the units nearer to the beach would be great, too. I imagine the units on the third floor, and maybe the second floor, of the building we were in would have wonderful views of the sunset over the Andaman Sea. The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly good and a real treat. The location of the villas was ideal for us as well. We much preferred the Bang Niang area to the more crowded Nang Thong area. " |
First time we have used this service and was very impressed with efficiency, March 3, 2008 by Gaye Braund Visit Date:January 21, 2008 "This hotel was everything we wanted and more. The beachfront bungalows live up to their name. all the staff were helpful and friendly with special mention for Naan and Ton in the restaurant. an ideal place if you are looking for a relaxing holiday with several nice restaurants within easy reach along the beach. would definetely like to return " |
as always, perfect!, January 17, 2008 by José Visit Date:December 27, 2007 "right on the beach, even in high season enough beds.staff was friendly but english was very bad, only one or two people who spoke understanding thai- english. breakfast not to good, buffet, no variation. dining not recommandable dishes come one by one and you have to wait very long time for your food.Go along the beach, many places tot eat! Bungalows reasonable. In my personal opinion all together, nice place, but to litte value for money.

Great, efficient and helpful., August 13, 2007 by RG Visit Date:August 2, 2007 "We booked the stay 4 pay 3 package which required us to book a twin bungalow room (THB3500). We wanted to pay for the transfer from the airport (1500THB) but we were told to take a taxi. We decided to book a room at the airport given we were flying in late and may have found it hard to get one. When we arrived we were given room c7, which is behind the road in the gardens. The property is nicely set out with enough privacy. Dont agree that the area behind the road is cramped. The beach bungalows ( which in my opinon have the only water views) have the walkway to the beach in front of them, the resturant and reception, so feel the privacy would be limited.
There is construction going on all around the property, from 7.30am until 11.30pm. We had the whole resort to ourselves for 2 of the 4 days, then shared it with a family. Although our stay was nosiy we didnt complain about the room they had given us which was directly in front of the construction at the back. The resort was empty and we did enjoy our stay, so asked if we could extend to a further 4 nights on same package, but move us to a villa in front of us b8. No views, exacatly the same, just abit quieter. Answer was no, we would have to pay 4400 for 4 nights in that room. We had dined in the resort on a few occasions so not quite sure why they would say no to a booking when its quiet. We decided to go somewhere else. Breakfast was good, and staff were lovely. Massage was not available in low season, and the interent was not working. Dining avail from 9am till 6pm only.
Its some distance from town (about2.5km) so we hired a bike. Room amenties were good, thought about umbrellas, torch, candle etc. I would stay again " |
Great service will use again., May 16, 2007 by Harry de Kok Visit Date:May 8, 2007 "Wondeful location and very nice rooms we had A3 and A4. Khao Lak very quiet in the off season so we almost had the place to ourselves. Breakfast was included but no buffet as not enough quests but we could eat as much as we wanted from the menu.
We also had supper there every night and found the food very good and well priced.
All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Cannot wait to go back." |
Perfect!, March 15, 2007 by Erika Visit Date:March 6, 2007 "This is the perfect place to stay at. The bungalows are clean and if you chose a beach-front-bungalow - you get it all! 10 meters to the beach. A few meters to the restaurant/massage and pool. Good prices at the restaurant and you have a wonderful view at sunset right beside the beach. A quiet and restfull place to stay at. You have to walk a few minutes to the nearest 7-eleven but the mini-bar have good prices too. Bang Niang center is not as it was before the tsunami. If you want shopping you have to go to Khao Lak-center. But if you are considering which place to go to in Thailand - go to Khao Lak area now! There are VERY few tourists at the moment. A few people in sight bathing in the ocean in the middle of the day - and the beach is huge! " |
Efficient, no problems., March 4, 2007 by Laura Bullon Visit Date:February 23, 2007 "Very attractive room, furnished very tastefully. Gardens are well maintained, good location if you need to be by the beach, but not many restaurants or other amenities near by you will need transport. Breakfast a little on the tight side." |
